Farm Fresh Apron – Heavyweight Cotton with Tool Loops

We tried a lot of aprons before making our own. Most were pretty; none survived a real harvest. This one is built on the spec we actually wanted: 12-oz waxed canvas, seven tool loops, four deep pockets, reinforced corners, and straps that don't dig in after eight hours.

Why we made it

A pruning apron needs to hold your pencil, your shears, your notepad, your phone, a seed packet, and two tomatoes without tearing. Nothing off the shelf did all of that. So we sewed our own and stamped the Joe Avis Farms emblem on the chest.

Care

Machine wash cold, inside out, mild detergent. Line dry. Rewax every 6–12 months with any standard canvas wax to maintain water resistance. The apron improves with age.

Frequently asked questions

Does the wax wash out?

Cold wash preserves it. After 20+ washes you may want to rewax — any hardware-store canvas wax works.

Will the tool loops rip?

We reinforced them with bar tacks at every stress point. We've used ours for three seasons with zero failures.

Is this for men or women?

It's unisex. The cross-back strap design distributes weight evenly regardless of frame.
